Brian J. Wright
“Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” – 1 Corinthians 9:16
Brian is the founding and senior pastor of Redeemer Community Church. He is passionate about expository preaching, building strong families, and cultivating a church culture deeply rooted in Scripture and shaped by historic Christian faith.
He earned his PhD in New Testament and Early Christian Origins from Ridley College in Melbourne, Australia, and previously completed a Master of Theology at Dallas Theological Seminary. In addition to pastoral ministry, Brian serves as an adjunct professor in New Testament and biblical theology and regularly speaks at churches, conferences, colleges, and seminaries in the United States and internationally.
He is the author of more than a dozen books for adults and children, and his work has appeared in leading academic journals and national Christian outlets such as Christianity Today, The Gospel Coalition, and Desiring God.
Before planting Redeemer, Brian served for a decade as a Supervisory Chaplain with the U.S. Department of Justice in the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he led large-scale discipleship and mentoring initiatives.
Brian also played Division 1-A baseball, an experience that continues to inform his love for teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
Brian and his wife, Daniella, are the grateful parents of five children and are deeply committed to seeing the gospel take root in Pensacola and beyond.
